Bin Alert Notifications

Add Notification Number or Email

You can set up text message and/or email alerts using either the Bin-Sense Mobile app or the Web Dashboard.

Using the Web Dashboard

  1. Login to your Bin-Sense account
  2. Click on Preferences on the left pane
  3. Under Bin-Sense Notification Preferences, add a new alert phone number or email
    1. If you added a number, you will receive a confirmation message
  4. Respond to the message by texting YES
  5. The number is now set up for Bin-Sense alerts

Using the Mobile App

  1. Login to your Bin-Sense account
  2. Click on the three dots at the top right corner and select Preferences
  3. Go to the NOTIFICATION tab
  4. Tap on the  ADD NEW and add a new alert phone number or new alert email

Alert Notification Types

The following Bin-Sense Alert Notifications can be configured

  • Temperature Alerts / Thresholds (CGC, Manual Thresholds)
  • Weekly Rise in Temperature
  • Voltage Alerts
  • Exposed/Covered Alerts

If setting alerts for multiple bins, it is recommended to use the Dashboard page. Note that this page is only available through the Web Dashboard. If using the Mobile app, alert notifications will need to be configured on a per-bin basis.

Web Dashboard

Dashboard Page

  1. Login to your Bin-Sense account
  2. Select Dashboard on the left pane
  3. Using the toggle switches, enable or disable alerts for Temperature Alerts / Thresholds, Weekly Rise in Temperature and/or Voltage Alerts

Voltage and Exposed / Covered Alerts can only be configured through the Dashboard page.

Bin View

  1. Login to your Bin-Sense account
  2. Click Sites on the left pane
  3. Select the Site and the Bin to configure
  4. Under Bin Details, configure alerts to your preference

Mobile App

  1. Login to your Bin-Sense account
  2. Select the bin you want to configure notifications for
  3. Go to the NOTIFICATION SETTINGS tab
  4. Configure alerts to your preference
